Healthcare system
- •Spain has a high-quality public healthcare system. EU citizens can access it with the European Health Insurance Card (EHIC).

- •For non-urgent treatments, it's advisable to take out private travel insurance.
Travel insurance
- •It's highly recommended to take out travel insurance covering medical expenses, repatriation, and cancellation.
- •Many credit cards include basic travel insurance, but check the coverage.
- •For risk activities (climbing, water sports), make sure your insurance covers them.
Pharmacies
- •Pharmacies are identified with a green cross and are widely distributed.
- •Many medications require a prescription. For basic medications, you can go directly to the pharmacy.
- •In each city there is at least one 24-hour on-duty pharmacy. You can find it by asking at any pharmacy or calling 112.
